Day 1 – Heavenly Christmas Novena – Let’s Roll!

DAY 1 – HOLY MARY, HELP US TO STRIVE FOR PERFECTION!

SAINTS’ WORDS

“If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze!” -St. Catherine of Siena

“This is the very perfection of a man, to find out his own imperfections.” -St. Augustine

“To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.” -Bl. John Henry Cardinal Newman

“He who climbs never stops going from beginning to beginning, through beginnings that have no end. He never stops desiring what he already knows.” -St. Gregory of Nissa

“Let us begin in earnest to work out our salvation, for no one will do it for us, since even he himself, who made us without ourselves, will not save us without ourselves.” -St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Welcome to our “Heavenly Christmas Novena”

Happy Solemnity of All Saints!

First, since we are using the model (length of time) of the 54-Day Rosary Novena, I’d ask that we all commit to praying the rosary of the day, as we ask Our Lady for her intercession that we have the resolve to hang tough and press on throughout these 54 days. These 54 days are about learning and solidifying these very powerful spiritual practices in our lives. Satan does not want you spiritually strong, united and disciplined, so brush off all of the excuses he plants in your head and stand firm.

While we will get these powerful practices up and running, we are going to begin by spending some time in training. From there, we will begin to put everything into practice by starting in very doable increments. This way, we will gain strength as we go, without derailing.

For your assignment today, besides praying your daily rosary, I ask that you read pages 8-13 in your “Strength and Alliance Field Journal.” Here you will learn about the Communion of Saints and why it is so important that we become better united with the Saints and Holy Souls.

Page 8 begins with the following …

LET’S ROLL

If the events of the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that we need to be ready for battle. We have to ‘armor up’ spiritually, not just for whatever lies ahead, but for the times we are living in right now. I talk a lot about getting “God Strong.” (I actually wrote a whole mini-book about it!) When we get strong in our spiritual lives, we want to utilize that strength to fight for what matters to God – souls.

This journal is a clarion call to raise an army of people willing to fight for those souls, for the eternal lives of their family, friends, and even strangers. All around us, we see people who don’t have, or have lost, the precious gift of faith, but what can we do for them?

Many of us may feel helpless in these matters, but our ancestors knew exactly what to do. Unfortunately, over time, the modern Christian has lost the ancient art of “fighting for souls.” This field journal will teach you how to dust off your antique brushes and get painting!

Here you will find a year’s worth of pages that will help you build your own personal army of intercessors, assist in the rescue of souls, and become a skilled warrior of the Church Militant.
