DAY 2 – HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, PRAY THAT WE RECEIVE THE VIRTUE OF FAITH!

SAINTS’ WORDS

“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” -St. Thomas Aquinas

“Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” -St. Augustine“

“One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying.” -St. Joan of Arc

“Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith.” -Saint Francis Assisi

A punishment for sin that entails purification. This purification can occur either here on earth or after death, in purgatory.

What is an indulgence?

The word comes from the Latin indulgentia, which means “to be kind or tender.” The Catechism tells us it is “a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven” (CCC 1471).
