SAINTS’ WORDS
“Do not say that you have chaste minds if you have unchaste eyes, because an unchaste eye is the messenger of an unchaste heart.” -St. Augustine
“Now, though the era of persecution is gone, yet our peace has its martyrdom, because though we bend not the neck to the sword, yet with a spiritual weapon we slay fleshly desires in our hearts.” -Pope St. Gregory I
CHURCH MILITANT BOOT CAMP BEGINS MONDAY!
Tomorrow begins the second half of our 54-day “Heavenly Christmas Novena.” We spent the first half training to become proficient in uniting with the Communion of Saints (Church Militant, Church Suffering & Church Triumphant). We also trained to become the very best in rescuing fallen comrades. From the Warrior Ethos: “I will never leave a fallen comrade.”
Advent is here! It’s time to give our very best in preparing for the coming of Our Lord! Advent is our “Catholic New Year.” Let’s make this our time to make a “resolution” to train to become the best version of ourselves that we can possibly be!
TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT
For your assignment today, in preparation for tomorrow’s start to our Church Militant Boot Camp, I ask that you read pages 128-129 in your “Strength and Alliance Field Journal[1].” Here you will see how easy it is to set-up your daily goals and plans.
Today, spend time in prayerful reflection discerning what those goals and plans will be over the next two weeks, as our Church Militant Boot Camp begins tomorrow!
In the military, boot camp (or, basic training) trains soldiers for combat by instilling discipline and an unbreakable bond. When their training is complete, soldiers act more as a sacrificing, corporate body and less as self-concerned individuals. Here we will learn how to become diligent members of the Church Militant and how absolutely essential it is to move in concert with the Communion of Saints.
LET’S ROLL!!

Christ has equipped us with weapons more splendid than gold, more resistant than steel, weapons more fiery than any flame and lighter than the slightest breeze … These are weapons of a totally new kind, for they have been forged for a previously unheard-of type of combat. -St. John Chrysostom
