Announcing the Historic Consecration of the United States of America to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

In honor of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will formally consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, June 11, 2026 — the Vigil of the Feast of the Sacred Heart — at the conclusion of their meeting in Orlando, Florida.

The next day, Friday, June 12, 2026, on the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, J.C.D., Archbishop for the the Military Services, USA, will offer Mass in honor the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus during the 5:15 PM Mass at The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

*Mass will be livestreamed at www.nationalshrine.org/mass[1].

This will mark the first time in American history that
our country has been formally consecrated to the Sacred Heart.
We believe this will help convert America!

Prayer of Consecration

On the Occasion of the U.S. Bishops Consecrating the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

To honor this momentous occasion, and to enable the participation of the faithful, the USCCB has published the following prayer, to be said by Catholics across the country on the day of the consecration:

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus:
You know the longings of our hearts, and You desire that we enjoy friendship with You.
From Your pierced side, You have poured out the wellspring of life, for which we thirst.
Your Heart burns with a love for all people to return to a right relationship with You.
We celebrate the abundant gifts You have given this nation, founded on the
self-evident truths that our Creator has endowed all people
with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We make reparation for the offenses against You and against human
dignity that have taken place in this nation.
May our hearts be united to Yours, so that our families and
communities enjoy peace and happiness;
may broken relationships be reconciled, injustices repaired, and
the wounds of our land be healed.
May Your holy Catholic Church serve as a sign, pointing all people to Your infinite love.
O Desire of Nations and Center of History,
we ask You to bless these United States of America.
Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

In celebration and honor of the USCCB’s Historic Nationwide Novena (June 3-11) and Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (June 11) being promulgated by our Bishops, we present to you the Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, attributed to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque:

This novena prayer is attributed to St. Margaret Mary Alocoque who widely promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Saint Padre Pio recited this novena daily for all those who requested his prayers.

The following prayers are to be recited DAILY for 9 consecutive days with the Act of Reparation to be added on the 9th and final day of the novena.

SACRED HEART NOVENA

O my Jesus, You have said:
“Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive,
seek and you will find,
knock and it will be opened to you.”
Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of
(name your request here).

Our Father . . . Hail Mary . . . Glory Be . . .
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, You have said: “Truly I say to you, if you ask
anything of the Father in my name, He will give it to you.”
Behold, in Your name, I ask the Father for the grace of
(name your request here).

Our Father . . . Hail Mary . . . Glory Be . . .
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, You have said:
“Truly I say to you, heaven and earth
will pass away but my words will not pass away.”
Encouraged by Your infallible words I now ask for the grace of
(name your request here).

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible
not to have compassion on the afflicted,
have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace
which we ask of You, through the
Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Your tender Mother and ours.

Hail Holy Queen . . .
St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart
(To be said only on the final day of the novena)

Most Loving Jesus, when I consider Your tender Heart and
see it full of mercy and tenderness toward sinners,
my own heart is filled with joy and confidence
that I shall be so kindly welcomed by You.
Unfortunately, how many times have I sinned!
But now, with Peter and with Magdalene,
I weep for my sins and detest them
because they offend You, infinite Goodness.
Mercifully grant me pardon for them all;
and let me die rather than offend You again;
at least let me live only to love You in return.
Amen.
