Recovering the Narrative
RECOVERING THE NARRATIVE
After my morning routine (shower, prayer, etc.), I checked conservative news to see what’s happening in the world. One of the first stories talked of teen mobs storming shops, etc..
That sent my thoughts reflecting on all the evil we have endured – looking to be normalized – especially in the past few years. You know, men lauded for walking into girls’ bathrooms and taking their trophies, violent rioters, looters and vandals painted as heroes, defund the police, soldiers are bad, drag queens reading to our children, masculinity seen as toxic, worshipping God is considered non-essential (Covid lockdowns), and on and on.
It seems (and I am being hopeful in this year of hope), much of this is now being seen as abnormal, as it should be. In other words, the attempt to normalize these evils and more has come and gone in a relatively short period of time. We quickly recovered the narrative.
Then I began to think of the evils we allowed to become entrenched as normal. Here, I am thinking about the murder of defenseless children in the womb, mainly since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, defended with the narrative of a woman’s right.
So entrenched as normal is abortion that the passion for giving a woman the right to kill their baby is a make-or-break issue for family and friends. Defenders of pre-born babies are treated as outcasts and even hated. And, in most cases, candidates for government offices are quickly dismissed if they so much as dare to call for an end to abortion … no chance, whatsoever, of being voted into office.
While I want, like I know you all do too, an immediate end to the worst atrocity in human history, I understand just how deeply entrenched this narrative is in the bones of our fellow Americans.
This is why I want to support candidates who I know are pro-life and are willing to play the chess game to recover the narrative. And, this is why I do not fault candidates who we all know have no chance of getting voted into office with a platform of ending abortion now.
I am hopeful. I’ll take Roe v. Wade being overturned and Planned Parenthood defunded, as I believe we are watching America recover the narrative that will protect the defenseless pre-born children. We are recovering the narrative!
I believe we are closer than ever to end abortion, thanks to the chess players.
