God Wants YOU! Enlist in the Grace Force!
The United States Space Force (USSF) is a new branch of the United States Armed Forces, which is intended to have control over military operations in outer space.
Those who believe in the supernatural power of God know that the greatest need is to “stand strong against” (spiritual warfare) the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
St. Paul wrote,
“Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:10-12
With this greatest of needs in mind, I have launched a new branch of the United States Armed Forces: The United States Grace Force (USGF).
Of course, this does not rise to any official branch, but it is the most important branch as it calls upon the Power of God to protect and bless our nation, especially praying God’s protection (“Got Your Six”) for those who put their lives on the line to protect and defend our freedom.
Since 2016, tens of thousands of faith-filled prayer warriors have joined forces and engaged in spiritual warfare as we have prayed, with belief, for our country. Through various spiritual warfare campaigns, such as the miraculous 54 Day Rosary Novena, and other powerful prayers and novenas, nearly 76,000 prayer warriors have received daily marching orders (through daily emails with specific prayers and reflections/teachings). Many more have participated through social media. This mighty force has witnessed a multitude of miracles and answered prayers, including the thwarting of evil designs as many long-standing evil regimes are being toppled. Satan and his minions are in full-on “panic mode.”
The Grace Force adheres to this ancient maxim, which was popularized by President Ronald Reagan: “We maintain the peace through our strength; weakness only invites aggression.” We are emerging from a very grim period of spiritual weakness as the vast majority of Christians ceased to believe in the supernatural power of God. As a result, Satan and his minions have been able to move almost unabated while, in spiritual terms, we have stood naked on the battlefield with no spiritual armor and no spiritual weapons to combat Satan’s evil designs.
In his letter to Timothy, St. Paul warns of these times:
But understand this: there will be terrifying times in the last days. People will be self-centered and lovers of money, proud, haughty, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, irreligious, callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, as they make a pretense of religion but deny its power. Reject them” (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
What is needed now, more than ever, is to grow an army that is strong in the Lord and in his mighty power (Eph. 6:10). This is what makes these Special Forces Prayer Warriors unique: Every last soul in this remnant Grace Force has an unwavering belief in the supernatural power of God. This is “key.” It is, literally, the key that opens the door to the Divine Life; to a supernaturally powered life in a state of grace.
Fr. John Hardon wrote:
“St. Thomas Aquinas believed that man is more than a composite of body and soul, that his is nothing less than elevated to a supernatural order which participates, as far as a creature can, in the very nature of God. Accordingly, a person in the state of grace possesses certain enduring powers, the infused virtues and gifts, that raise him to an orbit of existence as far above nature as heaven is above earth, and that give him abilities of thought and operation that are literally born, not of the will of flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
Belief in the Power of God was central to Christ’s teachings:
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8).
Amen, amen I say to you: if you ask the Father anything in my name, he will give it you” (John 16:23).
“‘Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours‘” (Mark 11:22-24).
Throughout salvation history, we have seen how God responds to this faithful, humble, and fervent kind of prayer St. Bernard of Clairvaux wrote,
“Timid prayer does not pierce heaven, because immoderate fear binds the soul so that prayer, far from flying upward, cannot even come out. Being lukewarm, it grows weak in its flight and falls because it has no strength. Prayer that is faithful, humble, and fervent will undoubtedly pierce heaven and it will certainly not return fruitless.”
Strong, resolute and “believing” Catholics, in a state of grace, are the “Special Forces” in God’s army. The U.S. military is full of rough and ready soldiers … among the best in the world. But within the ranks are the “Special Forces” — the most elite warriors whose specialties are impressive, to say the least. This is the most revered and feared force in all the world. Whether it’s a Navy SEAL or a Saint, we admire those who put it all on the line — go “all in!” — those who are totally dedicated to the mission; those who call out to God with every fiber of their being.
Most important, like the first rule among elite fighting forces, they knew how to follow orders; they knew how to obey! Humble obedience is the “first priority” of the Grace Force. Strong Catholics understand that God has continued to reveal “His Way” through the teachings of the Church and the lives of the saints. This means embracing those things that the world may consider foolish and just plain silly. I am referring to such things as the Sacrament of Penance, the Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist, devotions, sacramentals, and indulgenced prayers.
The primary action of the “Grace Force” is the extravagant use of sacramentals, with belief. As St. Paul wrote, “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4).
